About products and suppliers

Whether for industrial or personal handheld use, air compressors have been an indispensable tool without which some tasks in the modern world can be more difficult or downright impossible to do.

What is an air compressor?

An air compressor is a device that takes in air at normal ambient atmospheric pressures, runs it through the machine, and then outputs and stores air at a higher pressure than normal atmospheric pressure. Also, the air, after being run through the process, now has a lower volume than normal and so can be stored in a much smaller space for various industrial needs and applications. In addition, compressed air is a form of potential energy that can be released for later use. When released, the kinetic energy can power a myriad of equipment, such as refrigeration equipment and cleaning tools.

What are the different examples of air compressors?

Air compressors are so ubiquitous in everyday life that users might not realize the device they are using utilizes an air compressor for it to function, such as when they open an air conditioning unit that cannot work without ac compressors. Air compressors are divided into two kinds: the reciprocating type and the rotary or screw type air compressors. One of the most widely used type for home or small-scale applications is the reciprocating type. This is used to power everything from tire air pumps, portable air compressors, airbrush compressors, and various other examples of small air compressors. They work in the same way that a car engine works, using a piston to compress air and outputting compressed air by the end of the cycle. Rotary-type air compressors, on the other hand, use screw-like mechanisms to compress air. These are used for industrial applications such as the central pneumatic air compressor, which can power multiple pneumatic tools at the same time. In cases where users might want to reduce noise pollution, a quiet air compressor might come in handy. These are primarily of the electric air compressor type and can come in 12V air compressors.
